I'm engaged!!!!

It has been a wonderful week since my superman asked me to marry him. And the wedding planning has already kicked into high gear, but it's best to stop and remember that beautiful moment planned by my best friend, love, and now fiance!

Every good story needs some background, but I will try to keep it short ;-) So about two weeks before Christmas Jon and I had planned a double date with his big brother, Jesse, and sister-in-law, Stephanie, to the Melting Pot for the Wednesday night before Christmas. And it worked out perfectly that I was invited to spend the night at Stephanie's house on Tuesday night for a Sister Party she had planned (both Jon & Stephanie's houses are about 1/2 hour away from me). Jon also asked me to come over to his apartment to help him make cookies to bring into work for the next day (he took the day off of work on Wednesday).

I got up Wednesday morning after staying up late watching movies till 2am with the girls, and I headed over to Jon's apartment. It was just a normal day baking cookies and playing phase 10 with my man. It was time to get ready for our double date, so I hopped in the shower, did my

hair and makeup, and put on my first outfit (Jon had asked me to bring a couple outfits so that he could help decide what we should wear that night - we like to dress up and match each other).

I opened to bathroom door to an unexpected surprise. A white curtain was separating the entrance to the living room and it had a sign on it that said "Entrance Stage". I questioningly

called for Jon, and he popped his head through the curtain. He told me to come out and model my first outfit when I heard the music. Through the curtain, he had set up a whole fashion show like I was a model. There was a runway made with large light bulb Christmas lights, a disco ball, and Jon running around snapping pictures of me like the paparazzi! I was a little embarrassed, but I went along with it and worked the runway with a couple outfits that I had brought.

After modeling the last outfit that I brought, Jon surprised me when he brought out a dress that we had ordered but weren't expecting to arrive until after Christmas. It was amazing that the dress fit perfectly!

Surprisingly, I didn't necessary expect a proposal even at this time (maybe a little bit)... Then as we were about to leave, Jon said we had a little time (I knew we didn't lol) and he sat me down in the middle of the living room floor to look through memorabilia from past year together; cards, notes, ticket stubs, pictures, and whatnot. He put all this stuff in circle around us as we went through it, then he stood me up, said some beautiful things about how excited he was to be with me. Then he got down on his knee, pulled out a gorgeous ring, and asked me to marry him!!!
Of course, I cried and said YES :-) AND then he asked me to dance. I had my first dance with my fiance to the song I Can't Wait (for you to be my Wife) by Runner Runner... It was wonderful.

And that is just the beginning of an new and amazing relationship that we pray everyday God will bless for the rest of our life together!

Trees! Nature is GREEN

On my way to sleep one night, I just had some interesting ideas. They aren't really super well formulated but I just don't want to forget them!

Favors: I so totally want to give people little tree bulbs to plant when they go home (don't know how expensive that would be-maybe just attendant gifts) OR could just give out flower seeds and whatnot for guests to plant later!

Themes: Growing in love, cultivating a Godly marriage, blossom, rooted in love, etc.
